Rich In History

The untamed quality that drew American's west in the first place, shrugging off the restraints and restrictions of urban society, is immortalized in the historic place names that surround Seven Legends Ranches.

Highway 49 links the gold rush towns founded by the 'Forty Niners' themselves - Jamestown, Sonora, Columbia and Chinese Camp still live and flourish. Others exist only in memory.  Yosemite National Park is just one hour's drive away.

California Gold Rush

GOLD!! …in the mid 1800's the Mother Lode country became the geographic center of the California Giant Gold Rush.

While Seven Legends is today the location for some of California’s most beautiful Estate homes, it is also a location that is steeped in rich and colorful pioneering history.

Towns and settlements sprang up throughout the Mother Lode, and after the Gold Rush, many were eventually abandoned. Others, including Jamestown, Sonora and Columbia - all a short drive from Seven Legends Ranch - still prosper today and enjoy a thriving tourist industry.

Film, History, Golf & Modern Convenience

In the early 20th Century, the film industry was quick to recognize the spectacular scenery here as the perfect stage upon which to immortalize the mystique of the Wild West.

The picturesque Gold Rush towns of Jamestown and Sonora display their own character, while also offering modern conveniences.

New hospitals, schools, churches, supermarkets and national brand stores, as well as excellent restaurants, shopping and community services. Six golf courses and two casinos are among the local attractions.
